Department of Earth Sciences, Annamalai University organised the National Seminar "Recent Perspectives on LAKES, RIVERS and COASTAL WETLANDS-LARCO-2013" at Annamalai Nagar, Tamil Nadu during 24^th and 25th March 2013. The researchers from different places of the country participated in the seminar and presented their works. Total of 123 abstracts, covering different issues related Lake, River, Wetlands, Coastal process and management policies were discussed during seven different technical sessions that preceded by inaugural and four plenary lectures. During the seminar the SACON ENVIS team also presented the works related with issues on urban wetlands and people's perceptions, exploitation of urban wetlands and community conservation of wetland bird habitats.
